Why I work with dog trainers and behaviour practitioners.

Why the dog industry?
There was a time in my life where dogs were my world.
Not just because I loved them…
But because being around people felt harder.
Dogs felt simpler, they didn’t judge, they were easier to understand.
Many of the people I now work with, have their own version of this story. A dog who changed everything for them and shaped the work they do today.
But like I once did, they find the human side of the work - the communication, the expectations, the emotional load - much harder to navigate.
I’ve been a part of the pet industry for over 10 years, working alongside dog trainers and behavioural practitioners in a variety of ways.
Over time, I started to notice patterns.
Practitioners who were excellent at what they did with dogs…
but under far more pressure than most people would ever realise.
The pressure of running a business.
The responsibility of supporting clients, who often have unrealistic expectations of their dogs.
And the weight of struggling to hold everything else together behind the scenes. Often without enough support.
This is the work that I care about, supporting the people who are advocating for those without a voice whilst building something that not only works but feels sustainable to hold.

My Background
I’ve been coaching and mentoring since 2020, initially working alongside my own mentor before moving into a full-time role supporting dog trainers through the transition to online work during the pandemic.

Over the course of three years, I supported a large, international group of clients through onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing accountability.

Since 2023, I’ve been running my own private mentoring practice, working primarily with dog trainers and pet professionals, as well as other service-based business owners who value a more grounded, client-centred approach.

Alongside this, I’ve continued to invest in my own development both professionally and personally to ensure the way I work is current, relevant, and genuinely supportive for the people I work with.
My work focuses on supporting dog trainers and pet professionals with the practical and personal side of running a service-based business.

How I work
This isn’t about adding more pressure, more strategies, or more things to your list.

It’s about working with you…the person holding it all together.

Because no amount of business advice will land if you’re already overwhelmed, second-guessing yourself, or running on empty.

Together, we slow things down enough to understand what’s actually going on - in your business, and in how you’re operating within it.

That means:

-
Understanding the difference between your capacity and your capability
-
Recognising the patterns that are keeping you stuck
-
Making decisions that feel clear, not reactive
-
Taking consistent action, even when things feel messy or uncertain

Alongside this, we look at the practical side of your business, your services, your communication, your systems so things feel simpler, more structured, and easier to manage day-to-day.

This isn’t about doing everything perfectly.
It’s about creating a business that actually works for you.

My ethos
I don’t believe in forcing yourself to fit a way of working that doesn’t actually work for you.
For a long time, I tried to do exactly that.
To be more consistent.
More productive.
More structured… in ways that looked right on paper, but didn’t feel sustainable in reality.
As a neurodivergent business owner myself, I’ve had to learn how to make adaptions that work with my capacity instead of against it.
This realisation, became the foundation of my work: taking a capacity first approach to business development.

Sustainable growth, but not at the expense of mental health, or wellbeing.
